Well Pards, this page is all for you.  Whether you shoot replica guns or authentic antiques, in here you'll find valuable information related to your sport and hobby.  You might not always agree with what you read here, but it will always be objective and concerned with safety.  I'm a SASS member, and love to get out to the shoots whenever time permits.

One of my biggest problems with our sport is the need for speed and the disregard for safety in some areas.  Since I've had to repair dozens of blown top straps on Colts, both antique and modern, I feel I've got a good handle on what is the cause and how to avoid the problem. 

Our shooting speeds have been reduced with the istallation of weaker springs and lightened parts.  Keep your eyes open for an article I wrote for the Cowboy Chronicle on the subject.  It's called The Last Word on Blowups, and it will bring to light several concerns we all should be aware of if we intend to keep our sport safe.  The article should appear in the next issues, maybe November or December, 2006.  If you have any comment on it, let me know!  For now, Adios!
